Christmas at Lougheed is the best experience!  There is a warm and magical feeling when you see the lights and decorations and when everyone is joyful, happy and excited. The best part is when our class does Secret Santa and everybody is lively and restless. The part when your classmates exchange gifts with each other...the moment when you get your present! You slowly peek and unwrap it. You gaze at your present surprised and happy. At the end you love your present and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

# 45 Holiday Sharing

Thousands of food items and clothing will be distributed by the local Salvation Army. Students at Lougheed filled our atrium with items collected in December. Thank you Lougheed.

# 43 Operation Christmas Child

Grade 6 classes created over 50 special Christmas Shoeboxes for children in poorer countries. The gifts were delivered to this warehouse last weekend.

Daily Physical Activity (DPA) is the best time of the day. You get to play a game with your class or alone, but no matter what it's great!

We have DPA a lot. We get fresh air and we play sports and it is entertaining. All of the energy in us gets out in 40 minutes of refreshing freedom.

# 41 The Joy of Lockers

The locker is much more than a confined rectangular box built from metal. It is the first place you and your locker partner meet after the weekend.
It is a place where you know your personal belongings will be kept safe.
After a bad day you know you can take out your anger on it. The best part of all, it doesn't fight back.
Even on the first day of school you build a close bond with it because you decorate it as a miniature version of your room.
It is also the last place you look for something you lost.
On your birthday it changes to a giant birthday card that your friends decorate.
YES the locker is all this in one!

# 40 Going Digital

One thing I find great about Lougheed this year is that we now have carts full of brand new laptops for each grade to use. I love how most of them are either bright blue or a close to turquoise colour. I f\ ind that colour very pretty. I also think that it is good now that instead of booing the computer lab we can use the laptops. It also gives us a chance to type most of our work up rather than writng it. Also it just feels cool using them.

You get to learn about strange and unfamiliar species and you find out about the neat stuff of the human body and it's systems. You can perform observations and go on exciting and entertaining field trips.

It's so much fun to go on field trips. They teach you something and you have a good time. I enjoy going on a field trip to learn. I remember what I learn there, especially  science trips when we go out of school a nd do experiments. There are so many fun ways to learn.

After a long hot day during the summer going to the splash pad would be really nice! You just bring your extra clothes and your teacher takes your whole class out to the splash pad. The nice cold water falls on you on such a hot day. Having a splash pad near the school is really AWESOME!!
